SEMA Preview : 2009 Challenger Convertible

2008 Convertible Dodge Challenger by Coach Builders LTD headed to SEMA 2008

Coach Builders' Larry Moran said production of the Challenger convertible will start November 15, and the company is already taking deposits. The Challenger convertible conversion is priced at $16,000. Add that to a 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT8 that costs $41,695 and you will pay nearly $58,000 for moderen day Hemi Challenger convertible.

Moran says custom interiors, performance options and wheels and tires are going to be offered. They will debut this car at SEMA with a Vortech supercharger that bumps the 6.1-liter Hemi V8 to 560 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque. It rides slightly lower on a KW coil-over suspension kit and 22-inch Foose Challenger and Nitto rubber.

The convertible conversion reinforces the Challenger with strut bars hidden inside the trunk. The hydraulic top is padded between the structure and the exterior fabric for sound and temperature insulation. It also has a heated glass rear window and matching fabric headliner.
